Is a Kyoto to Nara day trip realistic with a toddler?
We're in Kyoto for four nights in October with our two-year-old. Is Nara doable as a day trip, or should we stay a night? And stroller or carrier for the temples?

Did exactly this in April with our 20-month-old. The train from Kyoto Station takes under an hour. Go to Nara Park first thing, when the deer and the crowds are both calmer. Bring the carrier: the gravel paths around Tōdai-ji are rough on small wheels.

A day trip is fine. We skipped the longer shrine walk and spent the afternoon in a quiet garden near the park instead. Our daughter napped in the carrier and we actually got to sit down.

What can I plan with Pack N' Zoom?
Create a trip with a departure date, a starting point and who is traveling, then add up to 14 destinations in the order you'll visit them. The trip and every destination each have their own notes, where you can write freely and keep bullet lists, numbered lists and checklists.
Who can see my trip?
You choose. Private trips are visible only to you. Restricted link access lets anyone with the special link view the trip. Limited user access is invite-only for the friends you pick. Public trips can be viewed by anyone.
Can friends and family plan the trip with me?
Yes. Set the trip to Limited user access, search for your friends, add them, and choose whether each person can view or edit the trip. Everyone works from the same trip instead of separate spreadsheets.
Can I make a public trip private later?
No. Other travelers may rely on public trips when planning, so the Public setting is permanent and can't be changed to Private or Restricted later.
