Questions and answers
What is Pack N' Zoom?
Pack N' Zoom is a travel planning platform designed to make organizing your next adventure simple and stress-free. Whether you're mapping out a weekend getaway or coordinating a multi-city vacation, the site gives you the tools to plan every detail of your trip in one place.
What features does Pack N' Zoom offer?
Pack N' Zoom allows you to plan your trips, share your itineraries with friends, family, or travel companions, and ask questions about destinations, logistics, and travel tips. The built-in community and Q&A feature lets you get answers from fellow travelers who've been there. This makes trip planning faster, easier, and more collaborative.
What is the goal of Pack N' Zoom?
The goal is straightforward: make trip planning faster, easier, and more fun. Instead of jumping between dozens of tabs and apps, Pack N' Zoom brings everything together so you can spend less time stressing over the details and more time looking forward to the journey ahead.
Does Pack N' Zoom sell user data to third parties?
Absolutely not. We do not sell, share, or expose any personally identifying information to third parties, period. While many platforms treat user data as a product to be monetized, we take a fundamentally different approach. All of our marketing efforts are handled in-house without ever leveraging or compromising the personal data you entrust to us.
How does Pack N' Zoom handle user privacy and security?
Your privacy is not an afterthought at Pack N' Zoom. It is a core principle. We are deeply committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure. On the technical side, that means TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive data, modern password hashing (bcrypt / Argon2), strict role-based access controls, and regular penetration testing. In the unlikely event of a breach that poses a risk to your rights, we notify the relevant authorities within 72 hours. Security and trust are the foundation everything at Pack N' Zoom is built on, because we know that the best travel experiences start with peace of mind.
What happens when I sign in with Google or Facebook?
When you choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Facebook, we receive only the basic profile information you authorize — your name, profile picture, the provider's account ID, and your email address (Facebook only shares your email if you grant permission). We use this solely to authenticate you and create or access your account. Everything else stays with the provider — we never request or access your Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Photos, contacts, location history, Facebook friends list, posts, messages, or activity. We also never post on your behalf. Our use of Google data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect a social sign-in at any time from your account settings, or revoke our access directly from your Google or Facebook security settings.
Why is there no cookie consent banner?
Because we don't need one. Pack N' Zoom uses only strictly necessary cookies — the kind that keep you signed in, protect against fraud, and remember preferences you've explicitly asked us to remember (like dark mode or your language choice). Strictly necessary cookies are generally exempt from consent requirements. We use no third-party tracking cookies, no advertising or retargeting cookies, no cross-site analytics (like Meta Pixel or Google Analytics cross-site tracking), and no browser fingerprinting. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we'll update our Privacy Policy and deploy a consent banner where the law requires one — before any such cookies are loaded.
What's the difference between Public, Private, and Protected Trips?
You're in control of who sees your Trips. There are three visibility levels:
  • Public — part of the community knowledge base. Visible to everyone. Other travelers can view, comment on, and interact with it.
  • Restricted Link Access — accessible only via a special Trip link. Share it with trusted friends and family; anyone with the link can view the Trip, so treat the link like a password.
  • Private — just for you. No one else can see it.
Posts work like Public Trips — they're part of the shared community conversation. You can change a Trip's visibility whenever you like.
What happens to my content when I delete it or my account?
It depends on the visibility of the content — and this is genuinely important to understand before you post. For Private and Protected Trips, deletion is immediate: the Trip becomes inaccessible right away and is permanently deleted within 30 days. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on a rolling 90-day schedule.

For Public Posts and Public Trips: if other travelers have commented on, engaged with, or relied on the content, we may reassign it to an anonymous user rather than delete it outright. Your name, username, and profile photo are removed, and the content is attributed to a generic anonymous identifier with no link back to you. This preserves community knowledge that other people have built on. Once content is fully anonymized it's no longer personal data, so it falls outside the right to erasure — but you always retain that right for anything that remains identifiable. Read the full details in our Privacy Policy, Section 5.
What rights do I have over my data, and how do I exercise them?
If you're in a US state with comprehensive privacy legislation (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others), you have the right to access your data, have it corrected, request erasure, receive a portable copy in a machine-readable format, and object to certain kinds of processing. You can also withdraw any consent you've given (like for marketing emails) at any time. To exercise any of these rights, just email privacy@packnzoom.com. We respond within one month, and we don't charge a fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. For a full list of your rights and how we handle them, see our Privacy Policy. We don't "sell" or "share" personal information under CCPA/CPRA definitions.
Can children use Pack N' Zoom?
Pack N' Zoom isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable minimum age, which is 13 in the US under COPPA. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, please contact privacy@packnzoom.com and we'll delete it promptly.
If you don't sell data, how does Pack N' Zoom make money?
Great question! Pack N' Zoom earns revenue primarily through affiliate commissions. When you discover hotels, flights, or activities on our platform and choose to book them through our partner links, we may receive a small referral commission from the travel provider — at no additional cost to you. Please note that bookings are completed directly on our partners' websites, as Pack N' Zoom itself does not process reservations. From time to time, we may display non-targeted advertising, which is never based on your personal data or browsing behavior. We may also occasionally send you thoughtfully curated emails related to your travel plans, such as destination tips, seasonal deals, or activity suggestions that complement your upcoming trips. These communications are intended solely to enrich your travel planning experience, never to clutter your inbox, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Unlike many other platforms, we do not sell any user data, and we do not use third-party cookies to track you. Your privacy stays protected, and our business model stays transparent and honest.
What is Pack N' Zoom's motto?
Our motto is simple: we're here to bring fun back into trip planning, not to harvest and sell your data. We believe you should be able to explore new destinations, ask questions, and share plans with the people you care about. All without worrying about who else might be watching.
Want the full story?
These answers cover the highlights, but our Privacy Policy is the complete and authoritative document. It covers data retention periods, international transfer safeguards, your full list of rights under CCPA/CPRA, and every category of data we collect and why. If anything in this FAQ conflicts with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy wins.
